Chinese and European Cooperation
The expert group "Europe and China Cooperation of Logistics and Maritime Technology and Application" is focussed on the current opportunities and the relationship between Europe and China. It's objective is the development and further improvement of these mutual relationships.
On September 23-24,1998 the formal negotiations for the initial signatures of cooperative agreement of Science and Technology were carried out in Brussels. This agreement established a basis for encouraging and promoting the cooperation activities of China and Europe.
The coordination of activities requires both parties to establish a joint science technique cooperation leading committee to be responsible for the performance of the pact and the management of the cooperation. The chinese party is responsible of the leadership of the Science and Technology part whereas the European party leads the Science and Research General Division.
Up to now many kinds of cooperation ways have been developed and formed such as young scientists team, partners group, union laboratory and R&D Center etc. Many exchanges of talented person development, cooperative research, scientific project constructions, scientific policies and organization management etc. related to logistics and maritime industries have taken place.
International cooperation of Europe and China is one important section of the e-LOGMAR-M project due to the implementation of the EU sixth frame program, the fast development of EU countries and the entry of WTO of China and stable growth of current economic situations of China, which has provided a new turn of good cooperation between of Europe and China. We hope a new cooperation phase can be started with the mutual efforts and contributions of Chinese and European experts related to Simulation and Modelling of harbor maritime logistics and transport process, Virtual Reality in Transport, Manufacturing and Logistics, Business processes of Harbor and Port Terminals, Business processes in Maritime, Railway and multimodal transport logistics and Training and Education in Transport & Logistic Systems and Advanced IT and Mobile Solutions.
The development of logistics and maritime technology is closely related to international cooperation, and the development of international logistics cooperation relies on effective work and active contributions. At the forthcoming event of China-Europe Forum on e-Logistics (CEFE) in Shenzhen on March 30-31,2006 many European and Chinese participants are expected: experts related to logistics and maritime, IT and education and training for their contributions of the e-logistics cooperation development.
The persons assembled in this expert group aim at joining their expertise in international cooperation areas. The main objective in this group is to form alliances for common future research projects and to jointly offer services and consulting towards interested industry clients. The expert group will meet at common events which most experts will visit (e.g. China-Europe Forum on e-Logistics conferences and workshops concerned).
